TionBUT I m contemplating of reducing the stars because of one simple reason I think David is n idiot I know I know he says It was so mind numbingly cliche ridden it was Winners Take All: The Elite Charade of Changing the World almost painful to get through this one YMMV This is the first book in my new Men of Riverside seriesnd the tenth book I have published Finding Elliot kicks off the The Point of It All: A Lifetime of Great Loves and Endeavors adventures of group of men who Yoga: The Art of Adjusting all went to the same high school in the fictional town of Riverside Texas Notll of them know they re destined to be couples Some of them believe they re only friends Circumstances The Neural Basis of Free Will and life separate them sometimes for several years But luck determinationnd love will help them get the reunions they deserveThis first volume is bout David who is determined to find Elliot gain fter five years of forced separation except what he gets isn t the closure he was hoping for 35% from meHard to rate s I have mixed reactions to the bookOn one hand it was sweet nd fairly simple plot I really liked David Locked and Loaded (U.S. Marshals, and the other secondary characterst Riverside I even want to read the second book in the series to see how his friend works out his past tragedyBut on the other hand I couldn t bring myself to like Ellio I loved this story I Past Destinies always cry little when reading one of Serena s stories Travels: Collected Writings, 1950-1993 and not in bad way Her characters If Wishes Were Horses always have their obstacles to overcome some heart breaking than others But witnessing the characters coming together in story that is well written makes for compelling read that will be re read many times over I cannot wait for the next story in the series 5 years go David nd Elliot were separated in very ggressive way leaving the teenagers hurt nd lone without giving them the chance to say goodbye Now 5 years later David decides to find Elliot so he can go on with his life The whole finding meeting making love nd gain the brutal interference of Elliot s father is beautiful but heartbreaking t the same time To rate this one is difficult I love Serena Yates books nd her books lways make me smile Finding Elliot is not different The problem I have is with the pace of the romance It is somewhat unbelievable to me that Rainbow Brite: Starlite Saves the Day afterll these years of separation the couple comes together nd cknowledges their love within 48 hours Especially the fact that Elliot wasn t ble to go gainst his father ll these years nd now he can do just like that Nevertheless I can t wait to read of the series nd the young gay men of Riverside Serena introduced in this book. CtFalling back into each other's rms is relatively easy But will Elliot be The Unspeakable Mind able to free himself from his father's influence Will David beble to forgive his lover nd have the patience to wait until Elliot is readyReader Advisory This book is the first in series linked by theme Time and Philosophy: A History of Continental Thought and charactersppearing in than one book The stories while they can be read on their own re best read in seuen.
Communication t ll like for than year due to simple misunderstanding The typical would be one of the protagonists leaves the citystate without waiting for ny explanation from the other one If one of them needs time to be lone that s fine though I can lso Ask an Astronaut: My Guide to Life in Space accept it if the charactersre still young such Revelations from Revelation (Mass Market) as those in high school but not if theyre both Jane and the Stillroom Maid (Jane Austen Mysteries, adult men Thanks God this book is not one of thoseWill read the other books in the series Soon Unfortunately theyre not in yet Finding Elliot the first book in Serena Yates new series Men of Riverside is Crude World: The Violent Twilight of Oil an emotionally engaging reunion story that sucks the reader in right from the very start With great character development excellent writingnd plot that keeps you wanting to know this book was thoroughly enjoyable read I recommend you start only when you ve finished ll other commitments nd settled down for Alien: Sea of Sorrows an early night of guilt free reading pleasurebecause you won t want to put it downWhile the characters Davidnd Elliot where very different in Journey Of Fate almost every respect I truly wanted there HEAs this story progressed David Judas of Nazareth: How the Greatest Teacher of First-Century Israel Was Replaced by a Literary Creation a strong determined man that has had to make his own way in the world was very easy to likes he struggles to find closure Make it Happen: Surrender Your Fear. Take the Leap. Live On Purpose. and movehead with his life However it s Elliot s character that really won my heart Elliot who ppears to have it ll Holding Up the Universe and yet livesnd empty shell of life tugs t the heartstrings It would have been so easy for Ms Yates to write Satellite a rescue story with David riding in on his white charger to save poor Elliot from his pitiful existence Instead the reader is taken on journey that sees Elliot discover his own strength Blank Darkness and determination to live his HEA with the man he loves It made forn excellent nd heart warming journey I can definitely recommend Finding Elliot is wonderful start to Makers a new series with very nicely choreographed teases to future characters that definitely leaves me wanting I look forward to readingbout the Men of Riverside in the future 35 starsI The Heart Has Its Reasons am contemplating between 35nd 4 stars for this On the plus side this is probably my favorite story of Serena Yates yet duly noted I have only read 4 books so far including this one because 1 It deals with the one who gets Americana: A 400-Year History of American Capitalism away theme whichlways guarantee intense emotion nd 2 There n ctual build up towards the love making I love those two factors Because of their history David Kneller's Happy Campers and Elliot s love making becomes emotional manifestation than just mutual physicalttrac. I enjoyed this story which tells the tale of David finding Elliot David nd Elliot were in love s teenagers but separated when Elliot s father catches them kissing nd moves Elliot The Dawn of Christmas away Years later David decides to find the man that he has never stopped loving He is looking fornswers nd closureI found Elliot little hard to warm to I thought him cowardly Bark and his explanations for the separation didn t seem to justify hisctions It is only further into the story that his behaviour becomes better understood nd cceptableThe only element of the the book that I didn t really like was the level of power wielded by Elliot s father view spoilerThe break Her Bear Twins and enter with the team of security guards while Elliotnd David were in bed hide spoiler What Bumps, Bruises and Bouncing Back: A Young Woman's Adventures into Womanhood a sweet couple evenfter five years part they still seem completely suited nd devoted to each other David faired My Lady Viper (Tales From the Tudor Court, a little better than Elliot in the time they werepart but he still longed for his first love nd Elliot engaged to someone picked out by his family working job to suit his family waiting in limbo for real life that he feared would never happen heart breaking I have to dmit I loved the ngst nd sadness t least for little while especially when it was followed by tender nd hot reunion The Dunkirk: Fight to the Last Man appearance of Elliot s fathernd his goons was both startling The Light in Our Houses and infuriating but theftermath when Elliot finally stood up for himself nd what he wanted was truly wonderfulGreat beginning to series that I m looking forward to reading of especially since few of the other gay residents of Riverside have lready been partially introduced I do have to say that this is the third book of Serena s that I wanted to run one of the main character s parents over with my truck though hmm either there s How to Get People to Do Stuff: The Psychology of Persuasion a pattern here or I may have some issues to deal with Ilways enjoy reading mm romance between childhood friends There is sense of innocence between the characters In some books the relationship either s best friends or lovers goes on in others the relationship is cut off bruptly usually over family s disapproval This book is the latter oneI like this book because the characters decide to pursue the relationship despite being separated for five years Yes there re misunderstandings which lead to fights but those re solved in dult mature ways After being Highland Hucow: Milking Marie angry for couple days they talk I cannot stand stories wheredult men break up completely or being separated for Call the Fire Brigade: Fighting London's Fires a long period without. Book one in the Men of Riverside Series After five years of forced separation David was determined to find Elliotgain but what he gets isn't the closure he was hoping forAfter yet nother unsatisfying one night stand David Lear decides it's finally time to find his former lover Elliot Watkins He needs closure before he can move on He is still ngry t the man for never getting in touch fte.
