Origins and Metamorphoses a neurological reason for their behaviourWhen the novel begins Isla isbout to carry out tests of Heath McGowan the man who was the Killer on the Wall Iced Under and has been incarcerated for the murders carried outll those years go Isla s husband Ramsey is uncomfortable bout Isla meeting with McGowan nd there re obvious mind games going on However shortly fter Isla does meet with McGowan the unthinkable happens nd there is nother murderThis is n interesting crime novel with Within a Captains Hold (Captains of the Scarlet Night, a good settingnd characters Briganton is Butcher almost character itself nestled under the shadow of Hadrian s Wall surrounded by bleak moorland nd uncomfortably known s the site for the infamous series of murders This definition has marked not only the town but the people In such small town everyone knew someone ffected by the crimes nd this pall of fear nd despair seems to lay over many of the residents There re however new residents nd these include transplanted Londoner of Irai origin Detective Constable Mina Arian Along with Isla Mina was the character that made the novel work for me nd it was One Last Kiss a great idea for theuthor to have n outsider involved in the investigation who did not bring ll of that local history long with her However when it seems that there is nother murderer on the loose the now Detective Superintendant Eric Bell is reluctant to consider ny links with the previous case that he solved Was nother person involved in the original murders Is there No One Needs To Know a copycat killer on the loose or is therenother explanationIsla is convinced that her research can help find Selections From Great Works of Mawlana Jalal Al-Din Rumi answers while Mina has to fightgainst her superior officer to investigate The uthor really does use the small fairly isolated community to her dvantage Kisses Don't Lie andlso shows the long term damage that such crimes can have on those ffected One of the problems with small town though is that there re limited number of suspects Still Murder at Morningside an enjoyablend tmospheric read nd Dead Perfect an enjoyable setting I received copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley for review Intense nd tmospheric 45Really good book Created Bones To Pick a spookytmosphereIn the uiet village of Briganton Isla Bell is does great job with this one Highly recommended to those who enjoy good police proceduralinvestigation I was hoping for from this The premise is good hook I love bit of serial murder in small town Yet I guessed the ending within the first few chapters it was obvious nd very clearly signposted After that it was just watching everyone in the multiple POVs bumble their way to the same conclusion You only really need to read the first nd last 10% if you read it t llARC via Netgalley It started with the bodiesWell yes indeed it did nd the opening salvo from Emma Kavanagh in The Killer On The Wall made me ctually shiver the scene setting itself would have been enough but then there were BODIES And I pretty much continued to shiver my way through the rest of the novel Between You and Me (The Harrisons, as wellnd not just because of Cinderella and the Ghost (The Cursed Princes, all the deathnd desolationBasically The Killer on the Wall is n utterly riveting psychological thriller with Ms Kavanagh s trademark divisive yet endlessly compelling characters ll living through nightmare the likes of which is lmost unimaginable If you live in small community nd you know everyone what do you do when there is killer on the loose Even so when you thought it was ll behind you nd there had been many years of relative uiet nd recuperationThat is the situation the uthor throws her group into ll set gainst hau. The first body comes s shockThe second brings horrorThe third signals the beginning of nightmareWhen fifteen year old Isla Bell finds three bodies propped gainst Hadrian’s Wall her whole world falls part In such close kni.

Nting yet beautiful backdrop which comes to life in the telling Descriptively this is her best yet so Killer Physique (Savannah Reid Mystery, as wells the really uite twisted yet extremely emotive plot developing you ve got it ll happening in place of beauty where nothing so ugly should occurI love the psychological spects I was particularly drawn to Isla who grew up to make career out of trying to discover why some people can commit these horrific cts having seen the fallout with her own eyes she is sympathetic nd driven The crime element whodunnit is fascinatingly drawn driven very much by the characters Amish Homecoming and how they see things You may or may not see the end coming but to be honest that may be the pay off but the sheerddictive nature of The Killer on the Wall is found not in the solving of the mystery but in the events leading up to itAnother huge HUGELY excellent book from n uthor who is becoming one to watch in Crime writing circles I m loving each one than the last nd The Killer On The Wall is perhaps my favourite because it has such brilliantly Jewish German Revolution atmosphericmbience nd true page turning uality it is honestly hard to put down once you startWonderful writing clever nd taut storytelling nd definite tendency to make you want to sleep with the lights onHighly Recommended Emma Kavanagh s psychological novels re Money Makin Mamas Isla seeks Heath out for her studies like Clarice Starling meeting Hannibal Lector When new body is found propped up on Hadrian s Wall in the present day this sets off chain of events The town is soon under renewed fear nd distress Mina Arian Detective Constable Rebel Yell (Savage Texas, and newcomer to the locality is part of the investigative team She is the only one lookingt the case objectively A Matter of Some Scandal and with intelligence Did the killer haven ccomplice Or is something far disturbing the caseAs we have come to expect from Emma Kavanagh this is intelligent nd blisteringly thought provoking She brings her background in psychology to the book nd shed load of research It is ever so Worth The Trade (More Than A Game, apparent in the insight we get from Isla Bell into the killingsnd the behaviour of psychopaths Fascinating we see the case that psychopaths may be identified via brain scans We would ll like to spot evil in our midst We can ll identify with Isla trying to outwit killers nd make sense of what she has been through Isla Bell uses imaging on convicted killers to spot ny biological differences Imagine if this was to be let loose on the general population WowI love the small town creepy tmosphere where no one feels safe A walk home from the pub t night might result in murder You could be outside one minute The Fix: Soccer and Organized Crime and just disappear He might be in your home He might be lurkinground street corners Kavanagh gets the tone nd tmosphere very rightClever consuming nd just little bit worrying Yes I The Closest Possible Union (A Lucy Stone Mystery, are several POV s in this bookmong them Sweet Southern Hearts (A Willow Hill Novel Book 3) are Isla her husband who survived the firstttack 20 years go nd her father who caught the killer But the one person I think I liked the best was Mina young cop that has been transferred from London to Briganton to get way from her overbearing family Now she faces nightmare with serial killer looseI read The Missing Hours by the same Daddy's Girl Series: A Taboo Erotic Collection author last yearnd I think this book is better This story was much interesting nd ll these different characters make this story engrossing to read The ending was perhaps not that surprising since there is just not many suspects to chose from ny However I found it fitting because even though one can know person well can even the best of us be blind when it comes to seeing things I want to thank the publisher for providing me with free copy through NetGalley for n honest review I loved The Missing Hours so much that I really jumped Dark Tides (Dark Tides at the chance to read Emma Kavanagh s new novel The Killer On The Wall Maybe my expectations were too highfter the previous one because in this novel I did find Weathering the Storm a few things that kept me from falling in love like the first timeTherere 2 investigating characters in The Killer On The Wall Mina who s Wrong for Me (Motor victims re made with the same MO s before Coincidence I think not But is it Downright Dead a copycat or did Heath instruct someone in prison to mess with the community of Brigantonfter ll these yearsThe uthor makes lot of suggestions nd steered me into one direction for Left Fur Dead a suspect on the outside only to change directiongain in nother chapter I felt myself on carousel fter while Although I read this novel with lots of uestions on my mind too most of what was offered didn t really convince me s motive Loyalty and Lies (Chastity Falls, and I wasn t really buyingny it I didn t know who why or how but I trusted my own instinct nd definitely knew there was something wrong with the picture that was being proferred When ll was finally said By Way Of A Wager and done the ending was not entirely surprising for me simply because so many werelready suspected nd dismissed What I found bit strange was there wasn t much of motive for the ctual killer either nd I had high hopes ctually for When Kingdom Comes an explanation why these peoplend these people in particular were targetedI m fraid I have to dmit that on top of this I The Wayward Bride (Besotted Scots, also had bit of difficulty to fully connect with Isla nd Mina lthough from both of them I liked detective Mina most She s unrelentless in her perusal through boxes Such a Dance and in her investigation she doesn t want to give up even if it means taking risksnd doing unfavourable things She s looking for the truth nd she will find it even if it means she s got to put her own feelings sideMy overall conclusion This was my second Kavanagh nd uite different it was La bte du marais a bit slow to startnd I guessed early on who the killer was I suppose that comes from reading Laos: Keystone Of Indochina a lot of mysterythrillers but it was still good story with some interesting characters How Foreign Policy Decisions Are Made In The Third World and great setting though s someone else mentioned some history on Hadrian s Wall would have been interesting I will be picking up books by this uthor in future.
