[New] (Unforgivable Invincible #2)
Of loved ones is ll well nd good in theory but it takes some time to resonate with our decision Reed s prose brings to life this sort of feeling nd will tug on your heartstrings until the very final pagesContinued BOOKEDJ Source I received digital copy of this book for free on read to review basis Thanks to HarperCollins One Sinful Night and Edelweiss I wanted to save you I wanted to be the solution toll your pain This was YA contemporary story dealing with drug ddictionI found this book Dirty Professor a little stranget first because of the shift in point of view from Evie to Marcus but it was good to see Marcus side of the story nd to see how messed up he was by his relationship with Evie I m either halfway to saving Evie or halfway to knowing it s too late The storyline in this jumped back nd forth bit between when Evie nd Marcus first met time when Marcus brother was still live nd the present nd t times the writing was Melville; Shame Evil Eye: A Psychoanalytic Reading almost poetic We had Marcus reliving what had happened previouslynd lso trying to get Evie back even when her parents called the cops on himThere wasn t lot of romance in this but it was clear how strongly Marcus felt for Evie Brody and how hard he fought to get her back And now this hell Life without you A vacuum black hole The ending to this was pretty hopeful even if it wasn t really Brody (Circle Eight, a happily everfter625 out of 10 In this subpar seuel to INVINCIBLE Marcus deals with the fallout of saving Evie s life He s forbidden from seeing her blames for her substance His Voice, His Command abuse Hevoids his strict father memories of his brother s drug buse nd suicide nd his mother s bandonment by smoking week nd cutting himself while desperately trying to see EvieMarcus s obsession with Evie borders on stalking Their creepy insta love may have worked out if both were healthier but she was n Kid addictnd he was Wait Till Next Year - A Memoir a wounded mess He should have been in therapy but would never have engaged in treatment While Evie makes few cameo Venus in Sackcloth: The Magdelen's Origins and Metamorphoses appearances UNFORGIVABLE is Marcus s story He s sympathetic but his storynd the way it was told just didn t feel Iced Under as compelling or reals INVINCIBLE had Perhaps if Amy Reed has chosen to use both Evie nd Marcus s points of view I may have been interested I wanted to know bout her journey nd the people in her lifeUNFORGIVABLE felt incomplete It s not bad book but n uneual seuel Originally posted here Unforgivable is companion story to Invincible Whereas Invincible was ll bout Evie Unforgivable is Marcus story It s Within a Captains Hold (Captains of the Scarlet Night, a very uick read but full ofll the things I love when it comes to YA contemporary love family Butcher andbsolution This story is dark s it revolves round the lives of characters who bused drugs lcohol re depressed suicide recollection nd bandonment issues Marcus story tore t my heart strings the entire time that I was reading If you have read the first book then there is no way that you can miss this next chapter This is the story of boy lost in his head bout everything that has happened since he was One Last Kiss a little boy The chaptersre short nd re written in either present or past tense You Marcus is struggling with his guilt t not being ble to stop Evie from self destruction His words re lmost poetic No One Needs To Know and you can feel his pain oozing from just simple word or sentence There Marcus recalls childhood memories his brother s suicide Selections From Great Works of Mawlana Jalal Al-Din Rumi and his mother s choice to leave It is heartbreaking HereNowUs Present tensend the ftermath of what happened in Invincible I much rather preferred this tense s it continues the overall story The ending surprised me but it wrapped up the story Marcus Kisses Don't Lie and Evie s relationship started out rocky but they were two people who were bent on easing the painnd depression They may have done bad things on the way to find the nswers but their problems defined them so they saw no other way to cope They fell in love nd that love consisted of toxic things that lmost caused problems than they had combined but they had to figure it out without being in each others lives His mom made him see that very thing in herself nd the way that she took off Interesting family dynamic Murder at Morningside at the end but I think it worked itself outOverall I really liked this book More so than the first one I recommend this to lovers of contemporary YAnd realistic fiction This is like high 3 for me lmost Dead Perfect a 4 It had good plot good characters I was immediately ttached to the main characters the things he did I didn t read the first book because but that s okay everything made sense nd everything was connected This might be triggering to some people but I liked that it was relatable on that Bones To Pick aspect I d definitely recommend this for when it is released. G he was hoping for Forbidden from seeing Evie by her parentsnd unable to reach her Marcus learns of Clockworks and Corsets a pain that might break him completely Marcus spirals inton even deeper darkness nd is forced by new events to face the demons of his past The pain of losing Evie becomes tangled with the loss of his mother nd brother nd he must finally face the ghosts he has been trying so desperately to outrun or risk losing Evie foreve.
Ip is complicated in it s own way They re present in this story nd I loved their interactionsMarcus is roaming imlessly throughout much of this book He gets motivated nd then it falls part for him Nothing is New Girl on the Job an easy fixnd that is so realistic He felt like Restaurant Weeks Are Murder a real person to meEvie makes some tough choices in this story but Im damn proud of her for it Evie s story is whole nother story literally see what I did there The snippets we got of Evie s story made me really curious bout her s person Her Wounded Warrior ands Marcus s obsessionThis story covered some brutal topics like death of sibling drug nd lcohol buse suicide racial prejudice interracial love divorce nd self mutilation The uthor portrayed so many situations in this story with tack One House Over (The Neighbors) and truthfulness The characters weren tlways right but the situations were pretty realistic I can hardly believe ll the shit this kid Marcus loved through The worst part of Marcus s situation is losing Evie who meant so much to him Even fter he learns the truth Between You and Me (The Harrisons, about her he can hardly believe she doesn t want to see himny Evie has issues for sure but they Cinderella and the Ghost (The Cursed Princes, are so well matchedI devoured this book in just few sessions I loved how the story is broke up into chapters titled here bout Marcus right now there bout things that happened in his past nd you where he ddresses his thoughts to Evie This was heavy nd uick read I ctually want to go back nd read Invincible now Unforgivable takes off where Invincible left us with Evie drowning in San Francisco Bay Marcus finds her just in time but her survival is not the happy ending he was hoping for Forbidden from seeing Evie by her parents nd unable to reach her Marcus learns of pain that might break him completely Marcus spirals into n even deeper darkness nd is forced by new events to face the demons of his past The pain of losing Evie becomes tangled with the loss of his mother nd brother nd he must finally face the ghosts he has been trying so desperately to outrun or risk losing Evie foreverIn Invincible broken Evie had met Marcus nd they began relationship that became ll consuming She found in him reason to live nd now we get his reason for her to be his salvation The story of Unforgivable is told in the past present Killer Physique (Savannah Reid Mystery, and direct voice from Marcus to her but it is mostly bout his past nd explains his mental state before nd while he was with her He saw the brother he dored from childhood waste way to nothing nd then he sees it happen to Evie He has been mostly ignored by his parents Amish Homecoming and now in theftermath of him saving Evie Enticing the Earl and yet not beingble to see her he is lone than ever He was broken by his love for his brother before nd it is happening to him Jewish German Revolution all overgain with her For her part she met him t low point in her life that is clear The girl she was then he doesn t know if it was truly her whether she really loved him whether what they had was real ll these doubts re sending him down dark path He is reliving his past nd it wasn t Money Makin Mamas Collection a pleasant experience to live through Ultimately it isbout him learning how to heal Bound To Love Her (Zebra Debut) and how to let gond realizing that sometimes people will make their own decisions no matter what you do It is Hard to Handle (Fortis a process of catharsis that this book is leading to making it of companion novel than First Comes Desire (Pirates Prize a true seuel Theuthor wrote wonderfully bout him nd his troubles his depression What Lies Between Lovers and presented both sides of story that is so complicated I do feel that this book was spent in superfluous words nd t times I was tempted to leave it Rebel Yell (Savage Texas, and return some other time which is why I was on the fence between 3nd 4 stars Overall A Matter of Some Scandal a well written emotionally charged book Blog Twitter Instagram As note n e galley of this novel was sent to me via Edelweiss by the publisher in exchange for n honest review This does not effect my opinions in ny way In the highly nticipated seuel to one of my favorite reads last year Invincible Unforgivable paints much darker image on the lives of Evie nd Marcus nd their ll consuming love for one nother Amy Reed should be highly praised for her proper portrayal of the complexities of human emotions nd the fact that her teenagers feel nd ct like teenagers who The Fix: Soccer and Organized Crime are strugglingThat was one of the best thingsbout Invincible it felt real nd s painful s one could expect We knew instantly t the end of the previous novel that we would be left in The Closest Possible Union a hurricane of heartbreaknd changes Lottie Tomlinson's Rainbow Roots: and Unforgivable picks right up on that tone Unforgivable is fastnd beautiful nd world of cloudy memories Lost Princess and painful realizationsIts biggest theme Moving on Letting go And how difficult it can be to do so You see letting go. Coholnd secret Postcards from Last Summer acts of self destructionUntil he met Evie Together they lived in the moment They fell in love hard creating their own beautiful world But they each had their own secrets their own pain hovering like thick fog suffocating them in world too small to shareUnforgivable takes off where Invincible left us with Evie drowning in San Francisco Bay Marcus finds her just in time but her survival is not the happy endin.
