E of a parent to a baby Concepts way over a baby s head Is it told rom an alien to a human Or an alien to its own baby that was left on our planet I guess I m looking too much into it Maybe I should just Cassidy Harte and the Comeback Kid (Outlaw Hartes, focus on the messages we are all different but we should take care of animals and the planet Maybe if I had a newborn I deel different A beautiful message and beautiful illustrations New parents will enjoy reading this to their babies It s a great baby giftNote This book is clearly intended to be read to new babies one line says something like you can t speak yet but my 3 year old and 8 year old love it anyway and unfortunately I did not know about it when they were babies so it s not just nostalgia that s got them hooked First of all I am a huge Jean-Paul Sartre fan of Oliver Jeffer s books I love them all That said I love this one the best My kids are grown but I still buy children s books because I love them and like to have the best ones aroundor my grandchildren who also love his booksHere We Are is a beautiful sensitive and Vintage Games fun book Perfect as a giftor new parents and anyone who cares about the earth and it s inhabitants especially in these uncertain times A great book Zamba for curious minds doesn t answer many uestions but gets kids asking them Every page isn t a masterpiece but there are several that are There are aew pages that are a bit wasted like he spends 4 pages suggesting that the reader The Erotic Motive in Literature find someone to get herhis uestions answered But there are aew pages like the one underwater and another showing where we The Detour fit in the solar system that are so breathtaking that it deserves 5 stars I was excitedor this book The Crime Trade (Tina Boyd for my 2 yr old and 7 yr old However it did not meet my expectations Some of the illustrations were dark and made it difficult to read the text There are two sets of text and the one of them is in a weirdont that is very small and hard to read also the layout of the book was just strange I don t The Adventures of Rusty feel like it conveys the messages other people were talking about in the book reviewsI will say though my kids loved the pages with animals and sea animals named everyoneLastly there is a page that has all different types of people which is all good but it does have two women in wedding dresses getting married I am not one to judge but I don t think things on sexuality and stuff like that belong in children s booksI am Call it home Insightfully sweet with a gentle humor and poignancy here is Oliver Jeffers' user's guide to life on Earth He created it speciallyor his son yet with a universality that embraces all children and their parents Be it a complex view of our planet's terrain bumpy sharp wet a deep look at our place in space its big or a guide to all of humanity dont be ooled we are all people Oliver's signature wit and humor combine with a value system of kindness and tolerance to create a must have book or parentsPraise or Here We Are A sweet and tender distillation of what every Earthling needs to know and might well spend a lifetime striving to achieve A must purchase
My kids and I absolutely love ALL of Jeffers s books every one of them and this one is pretty special As there isn t an actual story to ollow I can read it with my 3 and my 6 year olds and both enjoy it differently This might be a kids picture book but it moved me to tears When I When Mutants Attack!
